Hair Transplant FAQs

Not all cases of hair loss are suitable for a hair transplant. It is essential that candidates have a sufficient number of healthy hair follicles in the donor area. In addition, the candidate must have realistic expectations about the results of the procedure. Hair transplantation is most effective for people with male or female pattern baldness, but it may be considered in other cases, such as hair loss due to injury or burns.

Hair transplant results are not immediate. In most cases, it takes a few months for hair to start growing in the transplanted areas. Growth is gradual, and final results may take 6 to 12 months to become visible. It is important to remember that during the initial period, the transplanted follicles may appear to fall out, but this is normal. The hair will eventually grow back permanently.

Since Hera Derma is a dermatology clinic, our specialist physicians perform the necessary medical follow-ups before and after your hair transplantation treatment, analyze your results with the necessary laboratory tests, and apply additional treatments that will support your process.

Our exclusive DHI method is completely painless. Performed under local anesthesia, it allows the patient to be conscious and relaxed. Committed to your well-being, all our operating rooms are equipped with beds specially designed to ensure optimal comfort during both the extraction and the implantation.  Anesthesia is done by subcutaneous injections in both areas: donor and recipient, allowing for no pain.

The Sapphire FUE technique has many advantages over the standard FUE method. First of all, it is considered less invasive and more precise due to the use of sapphire tools. In addition, recovery is usually faster and more comfortable for the patient. Finally, the Sapphire FUE technique can be used for all hair types.

It is mandatory to shave the donor area (back and side). However, it is possible to keep the length of the recipient area depending on the case.

Complete shaving is not mandatory when a procedure is required in a relatively narrow area. If the area being treated is large, then complete shaving will be necessary.

In total, 50% of the hair from the donor area can be harvested, 30% during the first session, up to a minimum of 50% over a lifetime. With our hair transplant techniques, 100% of the harvested grafts can be implanted.

If the back of the skull is not favorable enough and does not have an ideal density, it is possible to take hair from the body and beard when strictly necessary. However, it is not possible to take from another person, as follicle transplantation is impossible from one person to another at the genetic level.

In principle this is not a problem, but it depends on the condition of the donor area. Sometimes it is very damaged, which means we are very limited in terms of taking grafts. It would be best to have one of our experts evaluate the situation.

You can fly immediately after the treatment. In connection with the wound healing, we only recommend that you do not go out in the sun until all the small scabs have fallen off.
